Features

PilotsData.com is being designed around one simple idea: give pilots powerful tools without taking ownership of their data.

It is not another navigation app or flight planner. It is a place to manage the practical side of your flying life — logbook, licences, medicals, training, aircraft records, documents, reminders and more — while keeping your personal aviation information under your control.

Your aviation data stays with you

PilotsData.com provides the application. You keep the data.

Your personal aviation records are designed to be stored as an encrypted PilotsData file on your own device, rather than permanently held in a central PilotsData database.

When you return, you sign in, choose your PilotsData file, and continue where you left off.

Add a flight. Update a rating. Change a medical expiry date. Add a document. Then save the updated encrypted file back to your device.

Your flying paperwork, digitised and protected

Over the years, pilots collect certificates, medicals, insurance documents, training records, aircraft paperwork and other important documents.

PilotsData.com is being designed so these can be scanned, photographed or uploaded and kept alongside the records they relate to.

The documents can form part of your encrypted PilotsData record, giving you one secure place for both the information and the evidence behind it.

Scan it. Photograph it. Store it. Keep it with your flying record.

One encrypted file for your flying life

Your PilotsData file can bring together your:

Logbook • Licences & Ratings • Medical & Flying Currency • Aircraft Records • Training • Documents • Diary • Expenses • Personal Details

Instead of important information being scattered across different folders, apps and devices, your aviation records can be organised into one encrypted file.

You decide where that file lives.

Save it where you choose

Create your own folder, choose your own filename and save your encrypted PilotsData file to your laptop, desktop, tablet or phone.

You can also copy that encrypted file to a USB memory stick, external drive or another device for safekeeping.

The file remains encrypted when copied.

Reminders before something becomes a problem

PilotsData.com is being designed to keep an eye on important dates and flying requirements before they become urgent.

Check flight approaching expiry
Receive a warning around four weeks before it is due.

Passenger-carrying currency
Be alerted if your recent flying is approaching the point where your ability to carry passengers may be affected.

Medical approaching expiry
Get advance notice so you have time to arrange your renewal.

Insurance renewal
Track aircraft or personal aviation insurance and receive reminders before the policy expires.

The principle is simple: important dates should come to you before they become urgent.

Your logbook stays yours

A logbook can represent years — sometimes decades — of flying.

That history should not depend on one website, company or subscription still existing years from now.

Your flying record remains your record.

Save it. Back it up. Keep it somewhere safe. Open it again and continue from where you left off.

Security without creating a warehouse of pilot data

PilotsData.com is being designed differently from systems that permanently retain large amounts of personal information in central databases.

Where possible, sensitive aviation information is processed and encrypted on the pilot’s own device.

The aim is simple: rather than building a huge warehouse of pilot data and then trying to protect it, avoid creating that warehouse in the first place.

Strong account protection

Online services that are necessary — such as sign-in and subscriptions — can use modern security measures including secure authentication, passkeys, authenticator verification, recovery codes, protected sessions and protection against repeated login attempts.

Your account and your personal aviation record can therefore remain separate.

Privacy by design

Sometimes the safest information is information that does not need to be retained.

PilotsData.com is being developed around three principles:

Collect only what is necessary.
Protect what is necessary.
Keep the pilot in control.

No advertising. No distractions.

PilotsData.com is being designed as a clean, focused environment for pilots — without advertising.

No banner adverts.
No sponsored pop-ups.
No unnecessary distractions.

When you open your logbook, you should see your logbook.

The platform is being built for pilots — not advertisers.

Safe payments

If you subscribe to PilotsData.com, payments can be handled by an established payment provider so that raw card information does not need to be stored inside the PilotsData application.

Your payment information remains separate from your aviation records.

Protection behind the scenes

Good security should work without constantly getting in your way.

PilotsData.com can use layers of protection including secure connections, protected administrator access, software updates, vulnerability monitoring and secure sessions.

The goal is straightforward: simple to use, difficult to misuse.

Built around the pilot

Your flying history belongs to you.

Your logbook belongs to you.

Your documents belong to you.

Your personal aviation data should remain under your control.

PilotsData.com provides the tools.
You hold the records.
You decide where they are kept.

Your device. Your records. Your data. You have control.
